Prepared training curriculum and conducted classroom training classes in the use of the Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook). Also proficient in developing Web-Based Training (WBT) curriculum and end-user guides for self-help training.  At the Department of Homeland Security, I trained hundreds of Border Protection Agents in the use of Microsoft software products.

Recent Work History

Feb 2013 to Present:  First American Corporation, Santa Ana, CA (Full-TimeAs Senior Technical Writer at First American (FA), I support the Information Technology Division reporting directly to the IT Senior Director in support of all FA documentation requirements. I work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assimilate source materials, analyze system design configurations, and write documentation that's understandable to both the business and technical staff. My documents support new systems development as well as providing reference information for ongoing program maintenance.  My writing style employs graphic flow diagrams that visually enhance my procedural instructions of a program or system. My documents service both the technical staff in making programming upgrades... as well as the management and business staff in understanding what a system does and provide training guides for attrition training. I have (to date) compiled a documentation library of over fifty software program guides for First American.

October-December 2012:  CoreLogic, Irvine Spectrum, CA (Contractor)  As Senior Technical Writer at CoreLogic, I worked with Project Managers to compile a centralized library of business-friendly data field definitions for CoreLogic's Census Demographics Databases.  I also designed and compiled a Tax Services Table, a Third-Party Demographics Table, an FBI Crimes Statistics Table, a Sales Trends Summary Table, and an Excluded Parties Table.  All of these new tables were integrated into CoreLogic's technical environmental architecture providing supplemental information as needed.

April 2012-September 2012:  PNC Bank, Laguna Niguel, CA (Contractor) As Senior Technical Writer for PNC Bank, I documented PNC Bank's 'SPOC Policy & Procedure Guide'. This new document provided the bank's first single point of contact procedures guide used by their 'Retention & Liquidation Negotiators' to process defaulted homes across the nation. I also compiled and wrote their 'SPOC Quick Reference Guide' for field use in handling future defaulted properties owned by the bank.

Nov 2011-February 2012:  Southern California Edison, Chino, CA (Contractor)  As Senior Technical Writer and Web-Based Program developer, I designed and programmed a new 'Learning Management System' (LMS) for SCE's nationwide 'Compliance Training' program, replacing their previous instructor-led training course.  The application I developed as their first WBT-based training course was 'Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures' classroom course. I used 'Articulate Studio 09' as the WBT program to develop this new course. My multimedia curriculum included narrations, musical fade-in/fade-outs, in-stream quizzes, and auto-scored tests. My prototype course was then used as the model for designing other required compliance training classes at SCE... and set a design standard for converting all instructor-led classes to Web-Based Training classes at Southern California Edison, dramatically reducing their overall training costs.

April 2011-Sept 2011:  Bank of America Laguna Niguel, CA (Contractor)  As Senior Technical Writer, I documented all policies and procedures for Bank of America's 'Service Department of Special Circumstances'.  I also published the information that I documented onto their 'Policies and Procedures Portal', located on the Bank of America Intranet.

Jan 2008-Dec 2010: Department of Homeland Security (Full-Time)   As Senior Training Specialist, I conducted onsite training classes in the use of the Microsoft Suite at all Customs & Border Protection remote stations along the Mexican border and California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas (total of 20 stations).  I prepared my curriculum and conducted stand-up training classes to Border Patrol officers that required skills in computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint. All officer training had to comply with stringent DHS documentation guidelines.
